Fright Night presents the new print of Jack Clayton's psychological chiller. While there is a place in the heart of every horror fan for blood and guts, The Innocents proves that what is not seen will always scare us the most, that our imaginations, if prompted, can fill in what is only suggested with the darkest ink. Deborah Kerr gives a beautifully subtle performance as Miss Giddens, the governess to two young orphans living in an isolated country manor house. The children, at first sweet and innocent, reveal strange behaviour and it seems that they are hiding a dark and terrible secret. Freddie Francis' cinematography is stunning and the screenplay by Truman Capote and William Archibald puts a twist on Henry James novel which leaves us questioning Miss Giddens' sanity. A rare opportunity to see this masterpiece on the big screen.
