(Fri 6th / 8pm / £4)
Two years on from their last live appearance and Mt. are preparing to grace the stage once again, blessing the good citizens of Bristol to their eagerly awaited comeback show at The Cube, coinciding with the release of the band's new EP "Teach Your Children How To Think, Not What To Think".
Combining delicate guitar melodies with huge, powerfully pulsating crescendos, Mt. take the listener on a refreshingly interesting and intricate musical voyage; a far cry from many so-called peers, who's yawn inducing floggings of simple and inoffensive, yet unexciting riffs have long since failed to impress. No, everything moves along at just the pace you want and expect it to, a feat they clearly displayed on their début album "Lethologica" and one that they have honed and improved upon ever since. The occasional dustings of well crafted vocals and inspired lyrics act as timely reminders of the creative prowess of this talented trio, and the range of audio weapons at their disposal and mercy. The new E.P promises much, as does their imminent second album; but don't take our word for it, head to The Cube on Friday 6th March and see what all the fuss is about for yourself.
"Teach Your Children How To Think, Not What To Think" will be available to buy on the night, where Mt. will be joined by soundscape soloist Constellations, plus special guests Dead Maids, Bath's finest instrumental Rock band. http://www.myspace.com/inguerecords
