AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE
(Jane Campion / UK,AUS,NZ / 1990 / 158min / cert15)
AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE is an extraordinarily moving celebration of the life of Janet Frame, New Zealand's most distinguished author, based on her
autobiographical trilogy. The film follows Janet through her poor childhood in the Depression and her growing fascination with literature; her painfully shy student days and subsequent treatment for misdiagnosed schizophrenia; and finally on her travels to Europe where she samples Bohemian life and achieves international success as a writer.

With Very Special Guest speaker ANNE CAWLEY. Ann is the widow of Professor Robert Cawley, potrayed in the film, who was for many years the psychiatrist and friend of Janet Frame. Anne has kindly agreed to talk about her late husband's relationship with the esteemed author and some of the issues related.
