(Thu 15th / 8pm / £2)

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die"
H.P. Lovecraft, who died in 1937, remains the most important and influential horror writer of the 20th century. Despite obvious literary shortcomings and a slew of prejudices, his compelling tales of dark sci-fi and cosmic horror have achieved a strangely prophetic intensity: blind idiot gods inhabit an uncaring and inimical universe, reflecting the moral abyss of the age.. His influence has been acknowledged by such diverse talents as Borges, Burroughs, Angela Carter, Alan Moore, John Carpenter, Guillermo del Toro and Stephen King amongst many others. Dark offerings in the musical sphere range from Metallica & Electric Wizard to Rudimentary Peni & Caravan(!). Join us for a screenful of Yog-Sothery and tentacular treats. Can you say Cthulhu?
