Anna Biller's much anticipated feature début looks like a loving tribute to softcore sexploitation films of the late 60s, but while the sets, props, lighting, cinematography and Hammond organ are all present and correct to fetishistic accuracy, Biller's tongue-in-cheek performance in the lead role as a housewife who is introduced to the swinging scene elevates the film beyond its trashy inspiration and questions the emotional price of free love.
