Ingue Records Presents A Night Of Film & Music

-
Wed 1 October 2008 // 20:00

(Wed Oct 1st / 8pm / £4)

A night of films and music from the Ingue Records crew. Live music from Theo and Fringes, plus premières of the short films 'Wedding Video', 'Encouragement', and the new video for 'Jody Coyote' by the Jelas.

'Wedding Video' is a short film, created, conceived and shot in Oxford presenting a series of events which occur as an aftermath to a rather over zealous stag party. The humour is sometimes surreal, sometimes twisted, but mostly slightly harrowing and thought provoking. Muse upon the thought of Rik Mayall's 'Dancing Queen' and Chris Morris' 'My Wrongs' and you are half way there!
Fringes: Members of Soeza, Line and Arctic Circle among others deliver their unique sax-infused, math-timing, post-rock bonanza.

'Theo' is a modern one man band solo project involving complicated, looped, inter-locking, guitar layers and frantic, relentless drumming. Often members of audiences find the concept hard to believe, but often onlookers find themselves drawn into the experience rather like a wasp to an open jam jar. The basic notion is that the guitar based portions are locked into an ongoing loop and the drums exploit the open rhythm with varying direction and pattern. 'Theo' has been likened to a 'One-man Don Caballero' or to a 'Reduced King Crimson', either way, it's pretty compelling!
