Anton Maiof performs his live score to the (oc)cult silent classic The Call of Cthulhu.
Based on a 1920s script for a film that was never made and shot using a combination of old silent movie techniques and modern digital fx. The film acquired a following after it's 2006 Sundance appearance and was called by one critic "the best HP Lovecraft adaptation to date".
Maiof's score combines lush Badalamenti-esque nostalgia with dark electronics and arcane rumblings worthy of the Great Old Ones themselves.
http://www.myspace.com/antonmaiof Beekeeper - new project from the Boduf Songs orbit. Where Boduf's Kranky début combined fragile textures and occult folk pessimism in an atmosphere of quiet introspection, Beekeeper's sound is a far less gentle proposition. Massive doom riffs, swarming electronics and cracked vocals recalling Corrupted, Noothgrush, Birchville Cat Motel and AMM.
Totton Glass - Irina Artamanova joins two of the sweaty morons from Hunting Lodge. For fans of ethereal chiming drones, bollock-scraping noise and rude skronk.
