Through various types of social exchange with strangers and friends, Eroca will deliver made-to-order dances- making your visions into reality.
The project explores the ubiquity of consumer exchange, but does so in a non-monetary context—one in which the non-elite creator-“customer” generates art through a collaborative, and ultimately meaningful and intimate, relationship with the dancer-choreographer.
“Made to Order” consists of three steps:
Step 1: Call for participants:
Requests for participants via noticeboards, the Cube programme, electronic message boards like Craigslist etc.
Step 2: The questionnaire
Participants complete a questionnaire indicating their preferences regarding as many variables in the dance as possible (music, site, lighting, costumes, mood, movement quality, etc.).
Step 3: Order up!
Eroca follows the recipe to make the dance, and present the finished product (on video or live) to the rightful creator or “customer”.
Eroca will perform one of the dances that will have emerged from the material she gathered in Bristol and will also be showing short films of recently completed video projects she made in TO.
Butchersomething
Part angel, part beast- the sweat and struggle between the two would best describe the heart and sound of Butchersomething. Reminiscent of the little, unsophisticated pop songs played on A.M. radio, this is music of desperate prayer, hardship, hope and praise tenderly strolling along a rough and carnal path of pounding, uncooked samples.
Embed A Radiant Head is the new album by Butchersomething and comprises a series of 'revelation portraits': a musical and personal attempt to bring new life and sounds to traditional pop… what a silkypunch… This is a musician who is not to be missed.
