Heavy Heads: 'beyond Black And White’: A Night Of Three-dimensional Poetry

Thu 20 March 2008 // 20:00

(Thu 20th / 8pm / £5/4)

Sons of the Heavy Heads presents 'Beyond Black and White’: A night of
three-dimensional Poetry.

Working towards the realisation of poetry beyond the limits of the word.
We take the grand traditions of oral history, story telling and poetry slams one step further, giving poetry a chance to slip off the pages and into your mind through the visual and audio medium of music, spoken word and film.

Film, poetry, live music, story telling, special guests, performance and more…
Short film by Nathan Filer, winner of the BBC Best New Film Maker Award (2005) and The Zebra Poetry Film Award (2006) as well as other well known local artists working in the medium. Acoustic guitar and lyrical wizardry by Joe Volk with Holy Shit on harmonica. Tibetan Throat Singing with Juan Gabriel Gutierrez. Poetry performance by Peter Hunter (UK All comers Slam Champ 2002/3 as featured on national BBC Radio) and local poets. Squatch on visuals and DJ Wookie in the bar. Poetry participation playground – come.
