(Fri 4th / 7pm (early start!) / £6)
B-Music is an independent collective of DJs, musicians and music lovers dedicated to the obsessive and painstaking pursuit of obscure, obsolete, exquisitely obnoxious, unbelievable, underexposed and undeniably delectable discs of experimental pop music from the psyched-out sixties and seventies.
This Friday sees the second of B-music's visits to the Cube, with another pot-pourri of progressive pounding pandemonium. With live music from Wolf People and Bristol's own Liftmen.
Wolf People are five piece swampy psych genius, mixing ferocious buzz flute with drum-heavy acid rock and distorted harmonica. They draw influence from Beefheart, Can, Turkish psych, delta blues, English folk and west-coast acid rock to produce a sound that’ll have you flying in the aisles.
The Liftmen are a four piece twin-lead guitar, all-singing group playing songs of beauty (songs of terror). The guitars meander together like pondweed in a slow-moving stream. All the band change into animals in dark moments of the performance. The water is very clear folks.
DJs Andy Votel, Dom Thomas spin Psych Prog Space Rock Ye-Ye Euro Beat Folk Funk Jazz and Whacked Out Movie Musak in the bar alongside the Evil Kitty contingent of John Stapleton, Brig and One Trick Pony.
Arrive early for our secret cinema Czech psychedelic classic.
