20TH CENTURY CUBE PRESENT: FIVE EASY PIECES
(Mon 10th / 8pm / £4/3)

Tonight 20th Century Cube are proud to commemorate the work of the late great cinematographer LASZLO KOVACS who died at the end of July. Through his use of natural light and creative incorporation of camera ‘aberrations’ such as lens flare, Kovacs daring and dazzling style became synonymous with the New Hollywood movement of the late 60s and early 70s, and such classics as Easy Rider, Paper Moon and Ghostbusters bear his distinctive and innovative touch.
Tonight’s presentation of FIVE EASY PIECES is no exception to the rule – a true classic of 70s cinema, Jack Nicholson’s central performance as the self- hating misogynist Bobby Duprea is expertly off-set by the ironic nostalgia of Kovacs’ warm western lighting. A dazzling testament to an artist who will be sorely missed.
