(Thurs 13th / 8pm / £5)
With the drummer Cosmic Neman (also a member of the French act Herman Dune) and Etienne Jaumet (Keyboards and analog effects), Zombie-Zombie assumes its Kraut influence from bands like Can, Silver Apples, Suicide, Raymond Scott, and the Goblin, and its taste for the analogue effects of instruments like theremin, keyboards, and space echo tape delay pedals from 70's horror movie soundtracks and Italian Giallos.
On stage Zombie-Zombie are hard to resist: a drummer who alternates between motorik rhythms and furious improvisation, screams to awake the dead, keyboard hummings, psychedelic spirit, possessed musicians and crowd in trance... the released energy is devastating, irresistible & contagious!
Zombie-Zombie use sound and rhythm to explore the feeling of fear growing deep inside of you.
Escalade is Greg Sullivan from Tokyo via New York. Creating spindly, droning and angular chord progressions and jazz-pop harmonies twisted in a daydream- like haze. Working from a broad range of influences, Escalade’s synthesis of a would-be group sound; played mostly alone, and a self-produced pocket-symphony aesthetic, holds in regard equally the influences of old and the timelessness of the new.
