feat. United Bible Studies, Tanakh + Monster Bastard Project

(Sat 7th / 8pm / £5)

An awe-inspiring triple bill put together by the organisers of America's legendary Terrastock festival.

UNITED BIBLE STUDIES are a crack collective of acid-folk mavericks from Ireland. Pooled from a few core members and a host of incidental contributors, they a bewildering array of instruments and electronic gadgets in their unpredictable, magical and life affirming jams. From Italy via Virginia, TANAKH are another revolving collective who cook up dreamy renaissance folk, refracted Americana and timeless drones. Plus captivating Bath-based post rockers MONSTER BASTARD PROJECT, who are already booked to play the next Terrastock Festival in Kentucky 2008.

Founded in 1997, the Terrastock festivals have become legendary in the USA for bringing together the cream of the underground and new bands poised on the brink of obscurity: some of the very earliest performances by Neutral Milk Hotel, Six Organs of Admittance and Charalambides have taken place alongside established acts such as Mudhoney, Kendra Smith and Sonic Youth.

The event organisers have now decided to try out some ideas in the UK, and the Cube Cinema is proud to be hosting the third of these “Terrastock Tea Parties”.
