Nanoplex: Kimya Dawson - Afterschool Special

-
Tue 3 July 2007 // 17:00

(Tue 3rd / 5pm / £3-under eighteen; £1-accompanying adults; £7-family ticket; £5 adult / ALL AGES)

Kimya Dawson, DIY indie-artist/musician from Portland and K-Records, will engage a younger audience in a participatory performance of deeply personal,
uncompromising song-writing tucked into intelligent and clever lyrics. Kimya totally subverts the confessional singer-songwriter genre, singing about Sesame Street and serious illness with all the silliness and fear and total humanity you could ever want. The world is in a state of disarray and Kimya sees that, but she also sees all the magnificent strangeness and unwavering beauty in the world and in people. And she shows us how to see it too.

Grown-ups are welcome to attend, but preference will be given to under 18's (and those accompanying them).
