You and Your Work
Performance showcase and party

Featuring Joanna Brown, Lee Campbell, Alec Drew, Mat Huntley and Patrick Luke Curated by Birgit Binder and Sylvia Rimat
A performer alone in the space, next to a cassette recorder playing
instructions. He produces endless amounts of flinches, burps, coughs and body movements. In the lounge an artist creates Dubai from cardboard and plastic packing wrap, whilst referring to it’s architecture, socio-political context and desert plants. A woman navigates through the stage, asking herself how you go about finding the thing, the nature of which is unknown to you. And a young man embarks upon a subjective, autobiographical exploration on quantum mysteries that baffle him through discussion of cats, childhood accidents and his obsession with boxes. A DJ set will big up the night with fine live electronica, Dubstep and Brokenbeat, accompanied by ancient visuals from Bristol Record Office.
You and Your Work is the first run of a contemporary performance platform at The Cube, showcasing emerging artists from the South West and London, whose work cherishes a DIY aesthetic and sweats on a low budget. The event will close with a party.
