The Sameboat project marks the 200th anniversary of the abolition of
the slave trade with a 9-month seafaring journey retracing the Atlantic slave triangle, accompanied at her various ports of call by a company of Afro-Caribbean musicians, dancers and performers and artistes drawn from communities en route.
As part of the project's stay in Bristol the Cube presents a
cross-cultural cabaret featuring performers from Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Jamaica. The evening commemorates our shared heritage and both past and present conflicts with dance, theatre and
storytelling.
