A dry comedy based on Garrison Keillor’s satirical US radio show of the same name, Prairie Home Companion is probably most notable for being the last film in the long career of noted film-maker Robert Altman. Shot in the director’s trademark style of meandering camera movements, overlapping story lines and an all-star cast (Meryl Streep, Woody Harrelson, Lindsay Lohan etc.) the film shows that Altman was sharp and vital to the very end, a film-maker who will be sorely missed.
