Every generation a few people will become big celebrities for no other reason than that they are famous for being famous. The Rainbow Man was one of those people. During the '70s and '80s, he appeared at major sporting events wearing a brightly coloured Afro wig and cavorted around until he caught the attention of television cameramen. But in the '90s the once free-spirited Rollen Frederick Stewart (AKA Rockin' Rollen) , gave up the "disco" lifestyle and was born again. THE RAINBOW MAN/JOHN 3:16 depicts the dark side of fundamentalism by documenting the gradual take over of Stewart's personality by his Messianic complex.
SAM GREEN, director, producer, and editor from San Francisco visited the Cube about a year ago to present his documentary brilliant THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND which was subsequently dominated for an Oscar and screened on BBC4.
