Mon 30 November // 19:30
Tickets: £12 / £9.50 (£7 concession)
Raised in suburban Illinois, Colette Ghunim always felt a distance from her culture and from her parents, who fled Palestine and Mexico as children and wanted only a safe, simple American life for their family. When they finally agree to go back and search for the homes they left behind, Colette films the journey: two trips, two homelands, grainy family VHS footage and animation that brings buried memories to life. An intimate, honest film about the Nakba, migration and inherited trauma, Traces of Home is a search for a house, and for a way of finding home within yourself.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
