Tough Sell #13
-
Thu 18 December // 19:30
Tickets: £11 full / £9 concession / £17 ticket bundle with Enter The Noid 4th December
Tough Sell present a night without amplification, as we're joined by troubadour Jazz Lambaux, agent of punk chaos 300SkullsAndCounting, and new Bristol super-group Riley/Radley. Don't expect unplugged to be underwhelming, as these artists push just how hard you can go with a couple of guitars and megaphones (and SMALLPIPES!)
Jazz Lambaux - Unplugged
If you've been to a Tough Sell gig in the last year you almost definitely will have heard us playing tracks from Jazz Lambaux's 'Music for Fools' in between acts. One of our favourite albums of the year, the songs find a perfect balance of melancholy, fun and absurdity. We're unbelievably thrilled to be presenting them on their unplugged tour as they traipse around Europe with their resonator guitar.
And if you enjoyed May's PIPE DREAM event you're in luck, as small-piper Enora Morris joins the line-up to provide those catchy hooks, along with Lucie Garrigues and 300SkullsAndCounting on megaphone.
300SkullsAndCounting - Unplugged
Every set by cy-Baroque anti-folk pop violence provider and expert screamer 300SkullsAndCounting has a surprise up its sleeve, from 10 minute counts up to 300, to moshpits to voice-memos. But with samples and electronics often playing a core part of his set, we can't wait to see what tricks he'll pull out for an unplugged set, which focuses more on his softer folk songs. We genuinely have no idea what will happen - you don't want to miss it.
Riley / Radley - Unplugged-ish
Two firm Bristol faves united at last. When finger-picking guitarist Danny Riley, and drummer and all-round maestro Noah Riley came together to support Six Organs of Admittance recently they knocked everyone's socks off. Now they're back with just one amp to share more of their freakout folk-rock improv goodness.
