THE DECLINING WINTER
Yorkshire-based The Declining Winter are the long-running project led by Richard Adams, the co-founder of the Domino Records group Hood. They are purveyors of a unique form of pastoral post-rock taking in influences from lo-fi, electronica and jazz with a strong visual aesthetic inspired by the countryside of Yorkshire and beyond. Their latest album the stripped-back and sorrowful Last April was universally praised as was its predecessor Really Early, Really Late with both records drawing comparisons to the likes of Talk Talk and Bark Psychosis. Live appearances are increasingly rare although the band have previously shared stages with the likes of The Durutti Column, Mogwai and Stars of the Lid.
