Kicking of a mini-season of cinematic nosferati, heralding the arrival of Count Orlock himself in February, The Cube is very excited to present a classic from the vault of the Hammer House of Horror!
After a group of young women are sucked of both their blood and their youth the swashbuckling Captain Kronos - soldier, vampire hunter, and owner of a glorious blonde bob - is called in to investigate. As he begins to unravel the mystery Kronos soon realises that this is no ordinary vampire he's chasing...
Intended as the first in a series of adventures for the titular character Captain Kronos failed to find an audience on release and its poor box office failed to revive the diminishing fortunes of Hammer studios which ended its decades-long run of horror productions shortly afterwards. Over the years, however, Captain K has acquired a cult status due to its genre bending mixture of adventure and the supernatural, and has come to be regarded as one of the best late Hammer films.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its theatrical release, Hammer has released a bloody great 4k restoration of the classic 35mm cut. Keep an eye out for other upcoming vampiric treats, if you dare!
Doors open 30 minutes before advertised start time. All film screenings are ad-free and 18+ unless otherwise stated, and start with no more than a 10 min selection of trailers.
