When Sin-Dee gets out of jail on Christmas Eve to the news that her hustler beau has been cheating, she drags gal pal Alexandra on a wild pimp chase from doughnut shops to drug dens down Santa Monica Boulevard. Over 24 hours subcultures clash and friends become enemies and then friends again, until all converge for an exuberant finale.

Fizzing and popping with the energy of as-it-happened classics like Slackers and Do the Right Thing, the comedy of hair pulling and bitch slapping gives way to something altogether more tender and unexpected: a film about female friendship and solidarity. Featuring dazzling, inventive cinematography (shot entirely on iPhones), this neon-lit romp from writer, director, and editor Sean Baker (Red Rocket, Anora) is high energy, high contrast, and equal parts snark and heart.

Come down, grab a Christmas doughnut and enjoy one of the best festive films of recent years. We promise plenty of drama.
