'Gorgeous.'
BBC Radio Bristol

Play Misty is a folk/Americana trio based in Bristol.

It unites three seasoned talents from Bristol's buzzing music scene: I-Sha-Vii of Amun-Ramen and The Wicky Wah Wahs; Ryan McMurtry and Sophie Jones of Sugarmoon. Their sound is built around luscious, warm, three-part harmonies, finely crafted songs garlanded with gorgeous melodies, lovely intertwining acoustic guitars, and a soaring flute. Their original material takes inspiration from the gifted songwriters John Prine, George Harrison, Bonnie Raitt, and CSNY, and balances an intimate acoustic aesthetic with soaring songs.

The group's debut single, released in early 2023, Open Your Heart, was called 'gorgeous' by BBC Radio Bristol, which gave it regular plays after its release. Their second single, Roll On, was featured on BBC Introducing In The West and was played by multiple independent radio stations across the UK and the US.

Arriving in the CUBE and surfing a wave of acclaim, this show is the culmination of Play Misty's summer tour promoting its arresting new EP release, At The Cube, recorded live at the CUBE Microplex using Arts Council England grass roots venues' funding. This is a very special full-band gig, featuring Dan Weltman on violin and mandolin, Joseph Trudgeon on double bass, and Max Harrison on drums.
