When the employees and guests at a resort-town inn begin to experience the same two minutes repeatedly, everyone must band together to figure out how this happened and what it will take to break the cycle. Hilarity ensues. Junta Yamaguchi, the director of the hit comedy sci-fi Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes is back with another hilarious and heart-warming slice of time travel cinema. Same as his first film River is laugh-out-loud funny throughout its run time, until the gravity of living in a seemingly endless loop starts to weigh heavily on some of the guests and neighbors. At the center of this story is Mikoto who has a crush on one of her co-workers, Takusa. There is an age-old adage, if you love someone let them go. Takusa has big plans outside of working at the inn, but will Mikoto be okay with his decision? All the comedy and drama in this heart-warming tale add up to a silly, wacky, out-of-left-field finale that can only come from the country of Japan. They really do it the best.

“Easily, one of the BEST time looping experiences I’ve seen. The filmmakers, truly put together such a cleverly crafted fun and impressive complex technical achievement, that will have a marvelous lasting profound effect on you after you finish it.” Elliott Collins Movie Files

“With a breath-taking setting, a well meaning heart, and plenty of instances of amusement, River marks another science-fiction success for Yamaguchi.” Kat Hughes THN

“No joke, this Japanese Indie might just be the best and most satisfying film of the year.” Rob Hunter Film School Rejects
