Noods Levels launches TREAD - a new event series focused around music production. Cultivating the next wave of producers with expert production classes from incredible talent.
We're thrilled to be hosting some of the UK's most exciting music producers, who will be sharing their career journeys and giving us vital insight into how they created their iconic sound. With six events to choose from, you'll have plenty of opportunities to learn from the best and get inspired to produce your own amazing music. And don't forget, each talk will be followed by a Q&A session, giving you the chance to pick the brains of these incredible artists and take your craft to the next level.
TREAD is proud to host a music production masterclass with Bristol based duo, EJ Akin & Grove
Grove is a powerhouse vocalist, producer, and DJ hailing from the Southwest. Their music is a bold fusion of feminine and masculine energies, expertly crafted into an innovative, rave-inspired sound. With their debut EP 'Queer + Black', Grove fearlessly delves into the complexities of personal and political identity, delivering sharp hooks and electrifying beats that transport listeners to a futuristic club scene.
Grove's journey from tinkering with sounds on their iPhone 3 to becoming a member of a rock metal band is a testament to their unwavering passion for music. Their source of inspiration stems from their involvement in a hip hop collective, where they received invaluable mentoring in the art of lyricism and rap. With the fusion of their electronic duo, BAAST, Grove has crafted a unique sound that seamlessly blends pop, electronic, and hip-hop experience.
Together with EJ Akin, their talented visual and audio creator, this duo showcases the incredible transformative power of club culture through electrifying sets that boldly challenge politics and uplift black and queer communities. From hosting radio shows to performing at Glastonbury, we are thrilled to welcome this dynamic duo to Tread.
This masterclass is hosted by Bristol Artist, Poet and writer NGAIO.
