Every year, thousands of men in the UK end their lives by suicide. Those in the creative arts face an even more pronounced risk to their mental health. Man Down tells the stories of men throughout the music industry, who bare their souls in intimate conversations. Each voice charts a personal battle with mental health and wellbeing, creating a collage of experiences within this turbulent industry. The film examines the causes of such struggles and asks why men, in particular, find it so hard to open up. With contributions and music from artists such as Rag & Bone Man, Portishead and Idles, among others, Man Down a film by award winning director Jamie Yuan and produced by mental health nurse Gemma Jennison aims to break the cycle of silence.
