Tickets: £5 / pwyc

Queer Iraqi/Syrian/Assyrian performer and theatre-maker Yasmeen Audisho Ghrawi lived and cautiously thrived under a dictatorship for almost two decades. Through personal experiences and anecdotes, Yasmeen unpacks the politics of the last 20 years inviting us to reflect on our individual and collective experiences and power through an ‘other’ frame. We find ourselves confronted with the question and dilemma: is living in a democracy becoming so different than living in a dictatorship?

‘The Daughter of a Dictator’ is a work-in-progress which premiered at The Arcola Theatre in October 2021 as part of the ‘Today I am Wiser Festival’ with support from The New Diorama Theatre and Grand Fund Plan.

The night will consist of a 40 minute performance, followed by a short Q & A with writer and performing artist Yasmeen and Co-director Charly Monreal.

**IMPORTANT** In the interests of everyone's safety and comfort, this event will be running at reduced capacity. Whilst it is not compulsory, it would be much appreciated if masks can be worn at all times whilst in the building.

Accessibility : To get into the auditorium you will need to climb a short set of stairs.

All ticket revenue goes to the performing artist and towards the running of The Cube.
