From Calvin Johnston's K Records/Dub Narcotic empire of indie wonder comes Phil Elvrum, who made mad music as THE MICROPHONES until he got sad and made music as Mount Eerie. Nowadays he's somewhere between the two. It's only names. Elvrum has busied himself with bands like D+ and Old Time Relijun but this is his main business: scratchy, funny, slo-fi songs from the margins of an endless road, somewhere nice between noise and nothing.
