Dead Space Chamber Music (DSCM) are an experimental dark-neoclassical group consisting of guitar (Tom Bush), Katie Murt (drums / percussion), Liz Paxton (cello) and Ellen Southern (vocals / bowed psaltery / sound-making objects). DSCM have previously performed live scores in the legendary micro-kino in the 20th Century Flicks video shop on Christmas Steps.
DSCM and the staff at the Flicks have long shared a love of the cult film and tv show Twin Peaks. In this newest collaboration the group will summon and inhabit a surreal liminal space inspired and haunted by the series, reflecting the shared sense of disorientation and 'otherworldliness' of emerging from lockdown. They will present visuals, songs and semi-improvised material in homage to the surreal and unsettling world conjured by co-creators David Lynch & Mark Frost.
Having produced multiple live streams, virtual collaborations and releases over lockdown, this will be the groups' very first in-person performance since the pandemic.
"This is the water and this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes, and dark within." - The Woodsman, Twin Peaks
