When we remove structure and preparation, we are forced to be sincere. And when we can't lean on a plan, we have to put something else there to lean on that's... bigger. Something like love.” - ADP

Alabaster DePlume brings his own interpersonal play-development method, developed at his residency in East London (“absolutely blew my mind” – Gilles Peterson, BBC 6Music; “a reminder of how vital and adventurous music can be” – Laura Barton, The Guardian) to the Microplex.

He has a fine fine new album out on the peerless and on-the-button Chicago born International Anthem. The album is called 'To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol. 1'. crawlrawl 'This is probably my favorite album of 2020 thus far. Each time I throw it on I like it more. Very chill at times but has blasts of energy that keep you guessing. Glad to have been introduced to Alabaster DePlume via IARC and have gone back and checked out some earlier stuff online. Check this album out!'

Alabaster dePlumes creative approach to experimental pop music making delivers joyous and mind melting attempts to challenge and address the divisive rhetoric prevalent in society. He enjoys an emphasis on candid interaction, humility and warmth. He was based in underground East London’s Total Refreshment Centre and as saxophonist and spoken word artist Alabaster has been creating new music and groups whetre ever he appears.

“Totally unique… Very, very brilliant indeed” – Max Reinhardt, BBC Radio 3

“a torrent of words and ideas that never fail to inspire” – CLASH Music

“One of my definite favourite saxophone players from this country” – Shabaka Hutchings
