It's winter time in Moomin Valley, but Moomintroll decides not to take his traditional winter slumber— he wants to explore the snowy land. And as the snow begins to drift, Moomintroll climbs out his window to find that mysterious and strange creatures are roaming in the midwinter darkness, bringing new magical gifts. And even better, a very special guest will be coming soon, bringing the spirit of Christmas to Moomin Valley.

Based on Jansson's original books with a screenplay from Małgorzata Wieckowicz-Zyla, Piotr Szczepanowicz and Ira Carpelan, Moomins and the Winter Wonderland was created using existing vintage footage from stop-motion Moomin productions produced in the 1980s.
