with Manish Pingle (Indian Slide Guitarist) and Jack Jennings (Electric Guitarist)

Sat 2 November 2019 // 15:00

Tickets: £10 Adv, £12 Door

We would like to invite you to our Indian Classical Music Master-Class with Manish Pingle (Indian Slide Guitarist) and Jack Jennings (Electric Guitarist) at The Cube Microplex at 3pm on Saturday the 2nd of November 2019.

We will go deeply into the melodic dimensions of Indian music, explore the connections it has with Western music and relate it in terms of music theory that is easy to understand. Exploring the rhythmic side of the music is equally fascinating and can bring a lot of fresh ideas.

There will be demonstrations and discussion about the nature of the music and plenty of time to answer questions.

Have a look at this video from our UK concert tour just this February:

About Manish:

Manish Pingle is one of the world’s leading Mohan Veena (Indian Slide Guitar) players. He is a disciple of Ustad Shahid Parvez, the renowned sitar maestro.

He is a recipient of ‘Manohar Madgaonkar Music Excellence’ award 2019. He also has received an exclusive honor from the 'World Book of Records’, London. He is an artist of All India Radio and Television. Manish is also a trained sound engineer and has worked on films such as Life of Pi and Eat Pray Love.

About Jack:

Jack Jennings grew up playing in fusion/rock settings until Indian Classical Music became his focus. He then began learning sitar in 2007 with Donough Sanfay, a disciple of Amarnath Mishra. He is now a student of Roopa Panesar (top UK Sitarist), and is further adapting the sitar techniques and concepts onto the electric guitar.
