Occupying a cinematic space somewhere between Stand By Me and American Psycho, Rivers Edge is a rarely seen highlight of 1980s American cinema. Based on a real-life case and cited by Salon magazine as 'the darkest teen film of all time' it tells the story of a teenager who murdered his girlfriend and left her naked body lying on the bank of a river. When his group of friends find out their reactions are unpredictable, ambiguous and disturbing. Featuring a cast that includes Crispin Glover, Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper and Ione Skye, River's Edge is a tour de force of teenage nihilism.
