David Thomas Broughton returns to Bristol after a sold out show at Cafe Kino in 2017. Since the 2005 release of The Complete Guide to Insufficiency, David Thomas Broughton has been wowing and confounding audiences worldwide with his detached crooning, happenstance looping and situationist performances.
The last time he played at the Cube (ten years ago!) was the day John Martyn died, which prompted David to perform a spontaneous and beautiful rendition of 'May You Never'. David will presumably be playing songs from 2016's triple-album Crippling Lack ('a folk behemoth' - James Acaster), but you never can tell with a Broughton performance.
Support comes from the folk-influenced slowcore of Anna Kissell and purveyors of intricately melodic melancholia Landslide Purist.
