Playfully placing a panoply of real witches and warlocks amongst the swinging weirdos of the 1950s beatnik scene, BELL, BOOK & CANDLE finds a befuddled Jimmy Stewart the target of sultry Kim Novak’s charms – both physical and metaphysical.

It’s Christmas time in Greenwich Village. Gillian Holroyd (Novak) is a whimsical witch who charms away dashing publisher Shep Henderson (Stewart) when she finds out he’s set to marry an old rival—only to fall for him herself. Gillian eventually must choose between a life with Shep and the loss of her magic.
