Employing the structure of a mainstream sports movie, this inspiring, gutsy, and entertaining documentary showcases the world of Quad Rugby (or Murderball as it was called until the name proved an insurmountable barrier to securing corporate sponsorship). A synthesis of basketball, hockey and rugby, it's played by quadriplegic men, many disabled by catastrophic accidents during the prime of life.
The movie elegantly shows how the sport has restored meaning and hope to its players, who require years of grueling rehabilitation and training to master it. Spanning more than two years - from the World Wheelchair Rugby Championships in Sweden until after the 2004 International Paralympic Games in Athens. The movie focuses mainly on three specific individuals including Joe Soares former star player for Team America, but he was cut and now coaches Team Canada (and his mission is to defeat his former team.) it's got
action, humour, sex, betrayal, and lots more!
