At an Abbey deep in the Irish forests young Brendan becomes an apprentice to Aidan a famous book illuminator. Aidan is working on the unfinished masterpiece The Book of Kells - "the book that turns darkness into light".  

But the Abbey is under threat from Vikings, and Brendan will have to venture into the woods where he is befriended by Aisling the wolf faerie, who will help him face a series of magical and real challenges.

The Secret of Kells is a beautiful and innovative animation from the team who also made Song of the Sea and the tv series Puffin Rock.
