Dreamer Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) gets a job as a security guard at the Natural History Museum in New York. During his very first watch, he makes a startling discovery. Thanks to the unleashing of an ancient Egyptian curse, the museum's exhibits spring to life when the building closes and night falls. 
Larry must find a way to sort out the marauding Cowboys, Cavemen, T Rex, Romans, Huns and ancient Egyptians before daybreak.  

Luckily Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Jedidiah (Owen Smith), and Octavius (Steve Coogan) lend him a hand.
