New Year New You

Dir: John Frankenheimer, 1966, USA, 106 mins, Cert: 15

Sun 7 January // 17:30

Tickets: £5 (full) / £4 (concession)

Seconds is the hallucinatory nightmare of Arthur Hamilton, who takes dramatic and drastic action to escape the tedium of his everyday monotony. After receiving a phone call from a friend he assumed was dead, Arthur is given an opportunity to start an entirely new life.

The third entry in John Frankenheimer’s unofficial “paranoia trilogy” (alongside The Manchurian Candidate and Seven Days in May), this part-psychological horror, part-sci fi disorientation, is one of the darkest, loneliest films ever funded by a Hollywood studio.
