plus short 'The Long Way Home'

(Douglas Heyes / 1964 / 82 minutes / USA / 35mm / b&w)
Ann-Margret plays a sexy & evil escapee from a girls' detention centre who hides out in the home of a senator who she seduces. She then drags him to Mexico with some of her beatnik friends. A strange and stylish masterpiece – moody & bizarre, and barely seen in the UK after being refused an initial release on grounds of indecency in 1964. Apparently there are current plans for a Hollywood remake, but forget about those idiots and come and catch this rarely seen original. And if you need further recommendation, it's no less than John Waters' favourite film.
Screened in association with archivist and film historian, Jack Stevenson, who has selected the accompanying short for your delectation.
