Naked Gun Marathon

All three classic comedies in one day

"It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.”

Ahead of Bristol’s Slapstick Festival (16th Jan- 10th Feb 2019) come and join us as we celebrate the onscreen slapstick genius of Leslie Neilson in a day of Naked celebration!

As part of the BFI Comedy Genius Season and to celebrate 30 years since the first Naked Gun Movie was released Slapstick Festival will be showing all 3 films in one day.

This Naked Gun Marathon will be hosted by stand up comedian, celebrity mastermind winner and Neilson super-fan Lloyd Langford and will culminate in a final pre-screening discussion with Robert Ross, comedy historian, looking at the career of Leslie Nielsen and the writing/directing team of Jim Abrahams , Jerry Zucker and David Zucker.

  • 2pm The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) Introduced by Lloyd Langford
  • 5pm The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991) Introduced by Lloyd Langford
  • 8pm Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1991) (including pre-screening discussion with Robert Ross and Lloyd Langford + Q&A)
