Alasdair Roberts Presents Hirta Songs + Andy Skellam & Two White Cranes

-
Sun 23 March 2014 // 19:30

Sun 23rd March, 7.30pm, £7 advance, £10 on the door

It's a most welcome return to the Cube for Scotland's finest dark-folk troubadour Alasdair Roberts, who's touring his Hirta Songs project.

It's a song cycle based on the lives of the former inhabitants of the barren, isolated and now largely abandoned isle of St Kilda, and was recorded in collaboration with poet Robin Robertson. Alasdair's unique timbre and guitar playing technique are spellbindingly raw, yet also otherworldly, and will  sound amazing in the warm and intimate surrounds of the Cube.

With support from Bristol-based singer/songwriters Andy Skellam & Two White Cranes, this promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Two White Cranes: "Quiet and sometimes loud.Observational songs, sweet melodies".

Andy Skellam: "The soundtrack to resting on a broken tree in mulchy woods + sweet harmonies from George Morgan"
