OTTO
www.ottoillustration.com
Otto has worked as a freelance illustrator since 1991 and mainly
illustrates newspapers and magazines, he also creates and self-publishes
beautiful and intricate artists books and prints.
Influences are Russian Constructivist and Polish poster design.
Using photography, illustration and text, Otto creates visual narratives
dealing with the mainly urban, cultural and political environment as well
as mythologies in contemporary culture, including consumerism, work-ethic,
self-destruction, and wealth.
As demonstrated in "Cashier Escape Route", Otto's work often depicts the
primary narrative of shopping but also uses other myths, like the original
sin, birth or death to act as secondary narratives.
The final work is screen-printed, ink-jet printed, or photocopied.
