Charlie, a seemingly straight-laced banker, has his day–and ultimately his life–hijacked by Lulu, a quirky New York brunette. What starts out as a capricious interstate road trip soon takes a turn into film noir territory when Lulu’s ex, Ray comes on the scene. Lulu may not be who she seems, but as we come to learn, neither is Charlie.
Featuring a killer soundtrack (including a multi-song performance by The Feelies) and electric performances from Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith, and Ray Liotta, Something Wild is both a kinky comic thriller and a radiantly off-kilter love story.
A sleeper upon its initial release, Something Wild is now acknowledged by many critics as a high-water mark in Demme’s eclectic career.
Advance tickets are available up until 3 hours prior to the screening time. Even if a screening is sold out, tickets are often available 30 minutes before the start of the film at the box office.
